Frequently Asked Questions

What does 'Key vs Code' mean?
Key is the value produced by the key (e.g., 'a' or 'Enter'). Code is the physical key location (e.g., 'KeyA' or 'Enter'). They're different — Code tells you WHICH key, Key tells you WHAT character.
How do I test modifier keys?
Press Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Meta/Win to see them highlight. Combinations like Ctrl+C are shown together.
Why are some keys grayed out?
Grayed keys indicate untested keys. Colored keys have been pressed. The progress bar shows test coverage.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. Keyboard events are captured entirely by the browser locally. No data is sent to any server.
