Frequently Asked Questions

What does the volume meter show?
The RMS (Root Mean Square) volume shows average signal level in dB. The peak indicator shows the highest recent level. If nothing shows, your mic may be muted or not detected.
What is AGC?
Automatic Gain Control (AGC) adjusts microphone sensitivity automatically. It can cause volume fluctuations. Disabling AGC in system settings gives more consistent levels.
What device info is shown?
Sample rate (e.g., 48000Hz), channels (mono/stereo), latency estimate, and whether echo cancellation and noise suppression are enabled.
Is my audio sent to a server?
No. getUserMedia captures audio locally. The analyser node processes it in-browser. No audio data is transmitted.
