Frequently Asked Questions

Is My Belongings free to use?
Yes, it is completely free with no account, sign-up or limits.
Where is my data stored?
Everything is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Nothing is sent to any server, so your inventory stays fully private.
Will I lose my data if I refresh or close the tab?
No. Your items persist in IndexedDB between sessions. To move to another device, use the Export backup button and import the JSON file there.
Can I add photos of my items?
Yes. Each item can have one photo, which is compressed in your browser and stored locally alongside the item.
How do expiry reminders work?
Set an expiry date on any item. Items due within 7 days are marked 'expiring soon' in orange and overdue items 'expired' in red, both pinned to the top of the list.
