Frequently Asked Questions

Is this PDF reader free to use?
Yes, completely free and with no account required. Just open the tool and start reading.
Are my PDF files uploaded to any server?
No. The PDF is processed entirely within your browser using WebAssembly (pdfjs-dist). Your file never leaves your device.
Does it support encrypted or password-protected PDFs?
Currently the reader opens unencrypted PDFs. Password-protected files will show an error. Remove the password first with a dedicated tool.
How does reading progress work?
The last-read page for each file (identified by name + size) is saved to your browser's IndexedDB. Up to 10 files are remembered. When you reopen the same file, you'll be offered to resume from where you left off.
Can I search for text inside the PDF?
Yes. Press Ctrl+F to open the search bar. Text is extracted from each page and matched against your query. Pages containing matches are highlighted with an amber bar. Works best on text-based PDFs (not scanned images).
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. On mobile, the sidebar is hidden by default and the page count / zoom controls appear in a bottom bar. Pinch-to-zoom is also supported.
