How to Use

Grant Camera Access

Click Start and allow the browser to access your camera. Works with webcam, phone camera, or any connected device.

Position the Counting Line

Drag the yellow A/B endpoints on the canvas to place the virtual line at a doorway or passage. Toggle the arrow to set which direction counts as 'entry'.

Watch the Count Update

As people cross the line, the Entered and Exited numbers update in real time. Use Pause to save power when not needed, and Reset to start a new session.

Review History & Export

Open the History panel to see hourly bar charts for today, yesterday, or this week. Export as CSV for reporting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this upload my camera footage anywhere?
No. All AI inference runs locally in your browser using TensorFlow.js. Your camera feed and all count data stay on your device and are never sent to any server.
Is this tool free to use?
Yes, completely free. No account, no subscription, no hidden fees.
How accurate is the people detection?
The tool uses COCO-SSD, a proven object detection model optimized for browsers. Accuracy depends on camera angle, lighting, and crowd density. Use the confidence and minimum-height sliders to fine-tune detection for your environment.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The layout adapts for portrait orientation, and the counting line endpoints have large touch targets. You can also switch between front and rear cameras in Settings.
Where is the historical data stored?
Hourly stats are saved to your browser's IndexedDB. Data persists across page refreshes but stays only on your device—it is never synced or uploaded.
