Frequently Asked Questions

Is What to Eat free?
Yes, it is completely free with no sign-up.
Where is my menu data stored?
Everything is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB. Menu photos are only sent for AI recognition and are not saved on the server.
How does the preference mode work?
In Favor my taste mode, dishes you chose before are more likely to appear, but ones eaten in the last 3 days are temporarily less likely. Pure random mode gives every dish equal odds.
Can I move my menus to another device?
Yes. Export the library as JSON and import it on another device, or share selected restaurants as a link.
What if every dish is excluded?
The tool tells you nothing is left and offers to restore excluded dishes or add more menus.
